Who This Blog Is For (hint: it’s you!)

If you are reading this, you must have a connection to Japan. Maybe it’s a simple curiosity or an inexplicable attraction, or perhaps it’s an international marriage, or your own heritage.

Whatever the case may be, this blog was made for you. It’s our goal to share what we love best about Japan, so you can enjoy a Japan-inspired life no matter where in the world you live.

Why Wafuu in the West?

Wa means harmony, and it is also means anything related to Japan. For example, wa shoku means Japanese food, and wa shitsu means Japanese room. Wa fuu means Japanese style. Join us in discovering (or re-discovering) Japan’s art, culture, seasonal holidays and festivals, food, and traditions.

Travel From Home

We hope you can come to Japan and experience it yourself, but we know that it’s not easy (or possible) for everyone to get on a plane and fly halfway around the world, even without border restrictions. That’s why we are working hard to deliver little packets of “wa” right to your computer, tablet or smartphone. Be sure to drop us a line to tell us how we are doing or what you would like to see more of!

That’s it for now. See you in the next post! じゃね!
